Discovery Zone Learning Center  was founded

in 2014 as a ministry of The Bridge Church

Marcus Hook Baptist Church.  It is our

desire to provide excellent childcare and

faith based education in a tradition of

excellence.  As an extension of the church

we are able to provide the highest quality

care at competitive prices.  

We are a fully licensed center. We accept ELRC

benefits for childcare assistance. Our daycare

will serve families with infants, toddlers and

preschoolers Monday - Friday, 7:00 am – 5:30 pm.

In addition, our before and after care programs

serve families with K- age 10/completed 4th grade, Monday - Friday.

 

Our well-established newly remodeled facilities are located just one mile south of I-95 at the Market St or Chichester exit. Just minutes from the Commodore Barry Bridge we offer a tri-state location and free parking for patrons of the Marcus Hook SEPTA train station, of the Wilmington/Newark line. It is also located near the 119 Bus Route.

 

You will find us securely located on the ground floor entrance of the church. Each educational room adheres to state guidelines following student / teacher ratio.  We utilize the church gymnasium and courtyard to provide much needed large muscle play space.  As a faith based organization we provide children with a strong moral foundation in everything we do. Children are admitted without regard to race, color, culture, sex, religion, national origin, or disability.  We do not discriminate on the basis of special needs as long as a safe, supportive environment can be provided. 

 

Age appropriate educational components are provided by qualified instructors in language, math, science, social studies, creative arts, health, music and art.  Our staff encourages the development of positive character traits and values.  Your child will gain self awareness, control of their body and emotions, nurturing relationships and curiosity in the world around them.  Our goal is to provide your child with the physical, emotional, social and spiritual tools they need to be ready to learn and to be conscientious and confident in themselves and others.

 

Our teaching staff is caring, professional and child-focused.  They desire to make learning fun and build positive memories for your child.  Our staff has received all the necessary security clearances for the field of childcare and must go through annual re-certification. Our staff members are required to do six hours of training annually, are required to receive mandated reporter training to be aware of the signs of child abuse. We also go above and beyond and require each staff member to receive pediatric first aid and CPR training.
